Exciting Update on our End Period Poverty Program

Updated: Apr 15

Dear Suporter,

I hope this message finds you well!

We wanted to take a moment to provide you with an update on our "End Period Poverty" campaign, as you've been a valued supporter of this initiative. Your commitment to our cause has been instrumental in shaping Dear Future as a nonprofit dedicated to children living in extremely remote and impoverished regions around the world.

Our "End Period Poverty" program is designed to ensure that school-age girls in our target regions do not miss another day of school due to lack of access to basic necessities. Over the past two years since the inception of this program, we have made significant progress and witnessed substantial growth.

TOTAL PADS PAST AND PROJECTED for 2024

As our organization has grown and evolved its strategy, we made the decision in late 2023 to transition to delivering reusable pads by January 2025. This transition is not only beneficial but also necessary for several reasons:

1. Comfort: Reusable pads are typically made from more natural materials, offering superior comfort compared to plastic-heavy disposable pads.

2. Cost-effectiveness: Although a pack of 6 reusable pads may initially seem more expensive than a pack of 10 disposable pads, the long-term savings are significant. Reusable pads can last 18 to 24 months, resulting in substantial cost savings over time.

3. Eco-friendliness: Reusable pads significantly reduce the environmental impact caused by billions of disposable pads ending up in landfills or polluting rivers and oceans.

To kick-start this transition, we have decided to purchase our first batch of 300 packs of 6 reusable pads. These will be distributed among the girls we support, accompanied by education to ensure safe and hygienic use. Additionally, we will utilize the remaining disposable pads to reach more girls in our target regions. Our goal is to completely eliminate the use of disposable pads by continuing our fundraising efforts to purchase a larger volume of reusable pads and achieve economies of scale.

We have chosen a manufacturer as our preferred brand, which is a company commonly used by NGOs working in Africa, such as Save the Children, UNICEF, and Plan.

Most importantly, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and appreciation of our program. Your contributions are making a tangible global impact that is truly commendable. Each pack purchased translates into direct assistance for girls in need. Your generosity is changing lives, and for that, we cannot thank you enough.

With sincere appreciation,

Ric Juarez
