Every year at Dear Future begins with a promise.
A promise to children. A promise to communities. A promise that, no matter how remote the location, we will show up.
Our 2025–2026 cycle started just like that; with belief, commitment, and the support of people like you.
It Started With You
Early in 2025, we began fundraising, in the face of an economically challenged year, we pressed through. Not through large campaigns or massive grants, but through something much more personal, our community and our grit.
Through donations. Through shares. Through likes, comments, and conversations. Through the few who read every email we send. Through the few who liked every post, again and again - we see you.
Every bit of energy mattered.
And somehow, all of it, every click, every dollar, every word of encouragement was transformed into something tangible: education.

Building the Foundation
While fundraising was underway, another critical part of our work quietly began.
We connected with those closest to the children: teachers, school directors, local leaders, and nonprofit partners across Uganda, Peru, and, for the first time, Guatemala.
Together, we gathered what mattered most:
How many students?
What ages?
What grades?
What do they actually need?
Because delivering with intention means listening first.
February–March 2026: Delivery Begins
Then came the most important phase of all:
delivery.

Between February and March 2026, school materials flowed their way across continents. Traveling long distances to reach children in remote and underserved communities, and arriving… directly into the hands of students.

Uganda: Where It begins every year
Our give season officially launched on February 14th in Uganda.
With the support of our local partners, we delivered school materials to:
Trey Jr. School: 319 students
Shalom Jr. School: 204 students
Wisdom Jr. School: 331 students
NGO Schools, all located in the Central Region of Wakiso.
Further west, in the district of Kagadi, our partner Eli Guard Tumusiime, recently elected LC5 leader, helped us reach some of the most remote schools in the region.
Together, we delivered materials to 1,000 students, expanding our reach into communities that are often hardest to access. And this work continues.
As the second term begins in Eastern Uganda, our partner Empathy Children Initiative is preparing to deliver materials to 1,500 additional students.
Guatemala: A First Step Into New Ground
On February 18th, we reached a major milestone.

For the first time, Dear Future delivered school materials in Guatemala.
Led by our partner initiative Florece Esperanza, and with the support of our Dear Future teammate Walter Flores, we brought supplies to 72 students in the remote village of Chumila, located in Alta Verapaz.
This region, including the historically impacted area of Río Negro, carries deep emotional and historical significance.
To be present there, and to serve, marks the beginning of a new chapter for our organization.

Peru: Reaching Deep Into the Andes
On March 16th, our efforts continued high in the mountains of Peru.
In the region of Huánuco, our partners coordinated deliveries across 9 remote schools, reaching 318 students:
San Isidro de Visag (48)
San José de Cayrán (30)
San Juan de la Libertad (76)
San Luis de Llincag (18)
Caserío Yanayacu (23)
Caserio Buenos Aires (35)
Caserío Carancho (48)
Casa Hovde Orphanage (18)
Puca Puca (22)
At the same time, in the Cusco region, we expanded into new territory.
In the district of San Francisco de Colcha, approximately 3.5 hours from the city of Cusco, we delivered materials to 54 students across three schools:
San Francisco (18)
San Lorenzo (22)
Pacopata (14)
This marks our first time serving these communities and a meaningful step forward in our mission.

What This Really Means
This isn’t just about notebooks, pencils, or supplies.
It’s about a child walking into school prepared. It’s about confidence. It’s about dignity. It’s about the chance to participate fully in their education.
It’s about removing one more barrier between a child and their future.
Thank You for Making This Possible
To our donors. To our supporters.
To those who shared a post, liked a photo, or told someone about our work.
To those who read our emails, even when we send too many.
Thank you.
Your support didn’t sit still.
It moved.
It traveled.
It showed up.
And it placed opportunity directly into the hands of thousands of children.
There is still more to do
Each cycle, we make a promise.
And each year, together, we keep it.
But there is still more to do.
More children to reach.
More communities to serve.
More futures to build.
If you’ve been part of this journey: thank you for walking with us.
And if you’re just joining us: There’s a place for you here.
