The change I want to see is a world where people are kind to one another.
One day, I saw my neighbour Harriet being laughed at. I did not like what was happening because I believe nobody should be made to feel bad by other people. Sometimes people laugh at others because of the way they look, the clothes they wear or the mistakes they make. I think this can make a person feel very sad.
I want this to change.
I have also experienced kindness from someone called Ric. Ric has helped me with scolastic materials when I needed them. I felt happy and thankful because Ric did not ignore me. This taught me that a small act of kindness can mean a lot to another person.
If everyone could treat others the way Ric treated me, I think our world would be a happier place. We do not need to be rich to be kind. We can share what we have, help someone who is struggling, say kind words and encourage people when they feel sad.
At school, I would like every child to feel safe and loved. If I see someone being laughed at, I would not join the people laughing. Instead, I would try to comfort that person and remind my friends to be kind.
I also want children to learn that being different is not something to be ashamed of. We are all different, but we can still learn, play and live together.
I am still a child, but I know I can start making a difference. I can choose kind words and help people whenever I can.
Thanks.
