A Letter to My Future Self

I am in Primary Six and I am twelve years old. I am putting effort into studying to become a very important person in this world. I have a dream of becoming a doctor to help my country.

The reason why a doctor is taken to be an important person: a doctor can be smart compared to some people like farmers. A doctor has much science compared to a tailor. A doctor is better than many people in this world like teachers, farmers, tailors and others. A doctor treats a teacher, but a teacher cannot treat a doctor. A doctor can treat a tailor and a farmer, but a tailor and farmer cannot treat a doctor. Even though a farmer can provide food and fruits like jackfruit and passion fruit, and even though a tailor can provide clothes like shorts, dresses, trousers, shirts and others, all in all a doctor is taken to be the best among people in the world. A doctor earns much money, but a teacher and tailor earn little money.

A doctor provides medicine to people who are sick, people suffering from diseases like malaria, typhoid, cholera, diarrhoea, COVID-19, trachoma, elephantiasis and many others. If God wishes and I become a doctor, I will encourage people to do different activities to avoid such diseases. I will encourage people to remove stagnant water and sleep under well-treated mosquito nets to avoid malaria. Malaria is spread by a female Anopheles mosquito, and to prevent the cause of sleeping sickness, it is caused due to tsetse flies which spread sleeping sickness.
