Firma: Yamile. Gracias por todo.

My Letter to Myself

Today I am putting my dream into words so I remember that, no matter how much time passes, I must not give up. I am 12 years old and have a great desire to become a police officer. This dream did not begin yesterday; it has grown for years. Whenever I think about helping people, protecting the vulnerable, and keeping peace in my community, I imagine myself in uniform, standing with a steady gaze and determined heart.

I want to be the person people turn to when they need help. To me, it is not only a job but a life mission: being there for others. When I grow up, dreaming will not be enough. I will need to study, be disciplined and physically strong, and prepare my heart to be patient and compassionate. Some days I will feel tired, and people will say the path is difficult, but a police officer needs empathy. The purpose is not to hurt others, but to prevent harm and advise people with confidence and security.

I want to set an example for children who see me and believe they can fulfill their dreams. On sad days, remember why you began: every book you read, assignment you complete, and person you help is a step toward your goal. Even when the path seems long, every step counts.

I hope that when you read this in the future, you are wearing your uniform and looking proudly at what you achieved. Remember the children who believed in you and keep going; true dreams do not expire. Never forget to serve as a police officer with love and justice, act bravely, and protect the city.

Signed, Yamile. Thank you for everything.
