Mis padres no tienen recursos económicos.

A Letter to Myself

My name is Aquilina Bustillos Llanto. I am twelve years old and attend I.E. 32293 in Pucapuca, in the district of Chavinillo, province of Yarowilca.

After finishing secondary school, I want to study fashion design and create clothing for women. That is the dream I hope to achieve. My parents have limited financial resources. I sell gelatin desserts at school and save what I earn for my expenses. My parents support me as much as they can because ours is a large family. I have eight siblings, and all of them study: four of my older siblings attend university, two are in secondary school in Chavinillo, and two are in primary school in Pucapuca.

During vacation, I will go to Huánuco to work caring for babies so I can save money for my uniform and other expenses. I believe education is the only way to move forward. My teacher has taught me that education is very important for succeeding in life.

I dream of a better world without violence. The news reports children disappearing and women being killed, and that frightens me. I want everyone to become better, prevent environmental pollution, and care for animals. Only then will we have a better world. God gave us life and a beautiful world, and we must all care for it.

I want a better world without those harmful things. That is my dream. At school, we protect the environment by recycling waste and planting trees to purify the air. I know I will practice what I learn at school so I can live well in a better world filled with trees, flowers, and good people. That is my dream for the future. Thank you for reading my letter.
