Literary Competiton
The Dear Future Literary Competition invites children from underserved and remote communities to explore meaningful themes and express their inner worlds through writing. Each year, students are encouraged to reflect, imagine, and share stories shaped by their own experiences, hopes, and creativity. With entries spanning multiple countries and languages, the competition uplifts young voices and celebrates the transformative power of self-expression.
Yearly Dear Future Literary Tournaments
2023
In 2023, students from Peru and Uganda came together to share their voices in the Dear Future Literary Competition. After inspiring entries from both countries, the tournament crowned Karen Yajaira Zambrano from Visag, Huánuco, Peru as the overall winner. Her work stood out for its heart, depth, and creativity, representing the powerful talent of young writers in our communities.
2024
The 2024 tournament brought together students from Peru, Uganda, and Jordan to reflect on this year’s theme: “Why is education important to me?” Their heartfelt entries highlighted the power of learning and the dreams it can unlock. The crowned winner was Jana Fadi from Squash Dreamers in Amman, Jordan, recognized for her thoughtful and inspiring perspective.
2025
The 2025 edition invited young writers from Peru, Uganda, and Jordan to explore this year’s theme: “A Letter to My Future Self.” Their reflections captured hope, resilience, and the worlds they dream of building. This tournament crowned Yanina Alcedo Gonzales from Casa Hovde in Huánuco, Peru as the overall winner for her beautifully envisioned future.
Awards
Winners of the Dear Future Literary Competition receive special recognition among all participating students, celebrating the excellence of their work and the heart they put into it. Each winner is awarded a Certificate of Achievement and a small monetary prize, which is often converted into a meaningful gift chosen with care. This recognition honors their creativity, effort, and the dreams they bravely shared.
