A Clean Najjemba Town

The change I want to see is a clean and beautiful Najjemba town.

Whenever I move around Najjemba town, I see rubbish in many places. Sometimes I see plastic bottles, polythene bags and other rubbish lying on the ground. Some rubbish is thrown near roads and in drainage channels.

This makes our town look dirty and unhealthy. I feel sad when I see this because Najjemba is our home. We live here, go to school here, play here and meet our friends here. If we do not take care of our town, who will?

I would like to see rubbish bins placed in different places around the town. People should put their rubbish in the bins instead of throwing it on the ground. I would also like our community to have regular cleaning days. Children can also take part because we are important members of the community.

If I were given a chance to make a change, I would begin at my school. I would encourage my classmates not to throw rubbish anywhere. We could clean our school compound and the area around it. I would also remind my friends that even a small piece of rubbish everywhere can make a difference when many people throw rubbish everywhere.

I imagine a future Najjemba where roads are clean, drainage channels are clear and there is no rubbish scattered around. I would love to walk through the town with my friends and feel proud to say, “This is my home.”

I am still a child, but I believe I can help to make a difference. I can start by keeping my surroundings clean and encouraging others to do the same.
