Clean Water for Everyone

The change I want to see is a world where every family can get clean water easily.

At home, my family gets water from a borehole. The borehole is very important to us because we use the water for drinking, cooking, washing clothes, bathing and cleaning our home. When the borehole is working, getting water is much easier.

But sometimes the borehole breaks down. When this happens, we have to walk a long distance to look for water. I have walked countless times when our borehole has broken down. Sometimes I feel tired because carrying or looking for water is not easy.

When I think about children who live in places where there is no nearby source of clean water, I feel sorry for them. Some children may spend a lot of time looking for water instead of going to school, playing with their friends or doing their homework.

I want this to change.

If I could make a difference, I would like to see more boreholes and clean water sources in communities. I would also encourage people to keep water sources clean and not throw rubbish near them.

I believe clean water is very important. Without water, people, animals and plants cannot live well. Children especially need clean water to stay healthy and attend school.

I am still young, but I can also help. I can avoid wasting water at home and remind my friends to keep water sources clean. I can also teach other children why water is precious.

My dream is that one day no child will have to walk a very long distance just to find clean water. I want every family to have a safe water source close to home.
