I am Nabagulanyi Gloria Patience a Ugandan citizen, aged 13, a learner at Shalom Junior school Kasozi. Am humbled to write about this theme stating that what I would like to change in my country. What I would like to change is the money of my country.

First of all during my stay in Uganda, am observing both important and unimportant things and the gone global. For sure many things have modified and some have remained stable. Fortunately, many politicians have been elected years back peacefully and freely before 1962.

At school, we talked of many leaders who led Uganda before 1962. Since that year I have never seen a new leader. My parents also talk about the same president. I have grown up in 13 years now knowing and seeing the same president which mean that there is no modification at all. Since fact, what we have, God fulfills our prayers because God is everything. As a child I cannot talk about leadership because God chooses a leader to lead a certain country. Then citizens act as representatives.

My main emphasis goes to the money used in Uganda and my humble request goes to the president of Uganda to modify the value of Ugandan money. To give an example, my mother works from sunrise to sunset but she earns little and this has made my mother hate my country.

It takes much effort for one to work for all that time she is paid ten thousand shillings only for the work. One day she came back from work late evening and sent me at the shop with 10,000/= which she had worked for that day. I went at the shop hoping to buy rice, bread, sugar, cooking oil and some change of about 5500/= but it surprised me when I bought a bread and a half bar of soap with a change of five hundred shillings only.

All the money which my mum had worked for that day was consumed with only a bread and a half bar of soap.

This made me think of the president who has protected my mother for all that time as well as me.

But today am writing as Gloria requesting my Godly chosen president of Uganda to atleast change the value of the money that we are using in Uganda so that my mother doesn't work as if without a wage. In other countries like America, dollars are used, and here 1 dollar is how different because USA is changed to Ug sh 3500 and yet in Uganda our money begins from a coin of Ug sh 100 to high note of 50,000, which means that the money has no value.

I conclude by requesting the president of Uganda to too modify the value of Ugandan money so that if one goes to purchase something, the money is valuable.

I love the reader.
