Our Story
Our mission began in 2018 with a small effort to support children living in poverty in Peru. What started with a focus on orphanages soon grew into a call for broader action. Rather than limiting our work to easily accessible locations, we chose to reach children in remote communities, places where the intersection of isolation and poverty creates some of the greatest barriers to education.
Our Mission
to bring education and health to children living in remote and extremely poor regions of the world.

Our Journey
2018
Lima
Peru
In October of 2018, our small team of two made a decision to help children living in poverty, suffering from poor health, or growing as orphans. Our motive was rooted in a foundation of giving and own experience. We started in Peru.
2019
Trujillo
Peru
Our first project was self funded, worked with an all girls orphanage in Trujillo, Peru. We changed all their emergency lights.
Next, we participated in the kitchen remodel, donating stoves to replace the decaying units that were in place; this time with funding from friends and family.
After seeing the condition of their hardly used school computer room, we decided to give it an upgrade, a decision that would pay dividends in an upcoming, unexpected pandemic.
2020
Lima
Peru
In February 2020 we performed our last project at a children's cancer center at Lima's National Hospital Eduardo Rebagliati. After meeting with the nurse in charge, she said: "if you want to help, bring something that can distract them from their current situation." No pictures were allowed.
Nothing will ever compare to the feelings we experienced this day. We supplied approximately 40 cancer and poverty stricken children with notebooks, coloring pencils, crayons, stickers, books, anything we could get our hands on to give them joy.
For a moment they were distracted.
2021
Flower Mound
USA
We decided to get organized and launch a non-profit project, with the mission to help children in remote and poor regions of the world achieve an education. In September of 2021 Dear Future was established as a nonprofit corporation in the state of Texas.
2022
Peru
Uganda
After visiting the region of Huanuco, we chose to support a single school in the remote community of san Isidro de Visag, serving 48 students. That experience helped define our mission: to bring education and health to children living in the most remote and impoverished regions of the world.
Committing to those words forced us to reflect on what that promise truly meant. Our research made the path clear, over the following decade, we would expand our work to sub saharan Africa, where some of the world's most underserved children face the greatest barriers to education.
On October of 2022 we landed in Kampala, Uganda.
2023
Huanuco, Peru
Uganda (East, Central)
2023 was a year that affirmed our purpose: helping children and turning intention into action. In Uganda, 188 students received school materials and 908 girls received hygienic pads. In Peru, 185 students received the supplies needed to succeed in school.
That same year, we built a nonprofit primary school that opened its doors to 83 students and endowed the school to our partner, NM Foundation, for ongoing operations. We launched our PenPal Program connecting students in Peru, Uganda and Zambia. Read our Year End Report Here!
2024
Peru
Uganda (East, West, Central)
2024 was a remarkable year for our programs. Our School Materials Program grew from 373 students in 2023 to 895 students in 2024, distributing 46,625 essential learning materials. That same year, our Board approved a transition to reusable menstrual kits through AFRIpads, a trusted Ugandan supplier. In total, 1,168 girls received kits providing up to 24 months of safe, sustainable use. Read our Year End Report here.
2025
Peru
Uganda (East, West, Central)
2025 marked Dear Future’s largest impact in Uganda to date. Partnering with Empathy Children, we focused on high-need government schools in Eastern Uganda, supporting Lukungu, Mbirabira, and Luwerere Primary Schools. Through this effort, 4,002 students received essential learning materials, including 3,500 in government schools.
Despite fundraising challenges, our menstrual health program supported 711 girls, with 481 receiving reusable AFRIpads as we completed our transition away from disposable supplies. Read our Year End Report Here.
2026

This year is looking to be a great year too!
We are maintaining our priorities and leveraging every dollar to make max impact.
